Create a Better You When You Try These Ten Resolutions for 2023

It is that time of the year again! It’s time to start thinking about the things you’d like to do in the upcoming year to help improve your health, your happiness, your career, your family, and so on. New Year’s resolutions can be pretty intimidating, but they don’t have to be. In fact, you can find a resolution that flows easily into your life while ensuring you are comfortable as you implement it. These ten resolution ideas won’t just help you to meet your goals but can even add a little extra money to your bank account. So, don’t hesitate to dream big in 2023, as there are a lot of great things you can do to make your resolutions feasible, frugal, and enjoyable.

1. Ditch the Take Out
If health is a concern for you going into 2023, then one of the best moves you can make is cutting out takeout. Takeout is usually packed with ingredients you probably don’t want to consume, and the calorie count is very high in most cases. Even if you’re ordering takeout from a restaurant, you still may not be getting what you need from the food you order and might find yourself overeating. When you ditch takeout, you might find that your weight begins to drop, which can help you feel healthier and more confident to help you reach your health goals. Best of all, when you ditch takeout, you’re going to save money. This money can be used for healthier groceries or for ordering meal kits that will save you time and energy while showing you how to cook healthy and delicious meals.

2. Get More Sleep
Sleep can be a magical thing. However, so many of us aren’t getting the sleep that we deserve. When you don’t get enough sleep, your physical and mental health can decline greatly. This means you’ll need to see your doctor more, which can cost you a lot more money. When you don’t sleep, you can also make poor decisions. You might eat foods that are bad for you, shop when you shouldn’t because it makes you happy, and so much more. So, finding the best way to maximize your sleep is important. You may want to consider sound machines, changing your diet, a new mattress, and anything else you think of to get your sleep under control.

3. Drink More Water
One of the best things you can do for your health is to consume more water. If you’ve invested in a water filtration system, then you’re always set up for success. All you really need to add to this is a reusable water bottle, so you can have water on hand all of the time. Drinking water might seem like a simplistic way to change your life. However, so many people actually forget to drink water throughout the day, and many are extremely dehydrated. Drinking water can help you cut cravings for sugar and other foods that aren’t incredible for your body. It can help you flush toxins, feel more energized, and may even allow you to cut back on the creams you use to hydrate your body.

4. Volunteer
Another resolution to try on for size is volunteer work. This work doesn’t have to be done often. You might consider starting out with once a quarter and then moving to once a month or more. This will allow you to help out your community and step outside of your comfort zone. It also might allow you to learn new skills that you can use in your career or personal life. Volunteering is a great way to get out of the house and meet new people. It will help you to learn to be more mindful and fulfill yourself. There are so many volunteer opportunities out there too. You can work in a soup kitchen, volunteer in a school, help build homes, and so much more.

5. Remove Credit Cards from Online Stores
Shopping can be one of the biggest problems people face now. This is especially true when they hop on online stores. It is way too easy to purchase items when you save your credit cards to use in that particular store. This doesn’t force you to stop and think about the purchase, which definitely makes it hard to save money. If you want to go into the New Year on a strong note, then remove these cards from the website. This will force you to stop and put in the information to purchase an item, which requires a lot more effort. Sometimes, this might stop you from making the purchase completely while other times it might just force you to delay the purchase. Either way, you’re going to save some money.

6. Try a New Hair Cut
Starting the year fresh can be a hard thing to do. A lot of people go to extremes and want to give themselves an entirely new wardrobe. Some even get consultations to get surgeries done in order to improve their appearance. However, this is all incredibly expensive and usually won’t work out in your favor. One easy way to get a fresh vibe is to simply get a new haircut. Try something out that you’ve always wanted to, consider going shorter than you have before, or get something a little edgier than you typically would. You might even try out a new color to help you truly pop into your surroundings.

7. Start Journaling
If you’re struggling with emotions or you feel like you’re not connecting with your life, then you might want to start journaling. Journaling can help focus your emotions while helping you to process the things that are helping you in your life. All you really need to journal is paper and pen, which makes it an incredibly cheap pass time. A lot of people feel emotional wellness after journaling, which could take a lot of pressure off of them and may even take away the need to have a therapist. With emotional wellness on the rise, you’ll be able to go after your goals and so much more.

8. Begin Saving
When it comes to financial goals, one of the best goals to take on is to begin saving. It sounds harder than it has to be. You don’t have to set up a savings account and pour all of your excess money into it. However, you should start small and prepare to improve your savings as the year goes on. One easy trick is to automatically adjust your pay to transfer some of the paychecks into your savings account. You can also keep things a little easier by setting out a jar. If you curse, engage in a bad habit, or eat out, then you place a certain amount of money in the jar. Not only will this allow you to save some money, but it will also break a habit too. There are actually a lot of other ways to save, so make sure to search a round to see if there is a better option for you.

9. Create a Routine
If you’re feeling stuck in your life or you’re struggling with time management, then you’re definitely going to want to jump into a routine. A routine will help you to get everything you need to get done accomplished, so you can feel more successful and have time for yourself. A routine can be tricky to put into place, so don’t feel discouraged if you struggle to keep up with it. However, after a couple of weeks, you may not know how you managed to get through things without the routine. You might also notice that you have less anxiety when you begin implementing your routine as you will have less to stress over.

10. Meditation
One of the biggest things people credit to life changes is meditation. For so many people, meditation helps not only reduce stress but bring clarity to their day. Meditation doesn’t have to look the same for everyone though. Rather, you can enjoy meditation through yoga, or taking a relaxing walk. There is also the traditional method of meditation. There are many online lessons to help you master this, as well, which is great for anyone hoping to take the next steps.

Your New Year can start off on the right foot if you have a resolution that you feel committed to. These resolutions will help you in many aspects of your life, so you can embrace the change while helping you to feel confident in your finances and your life.
