DockATot.com sells a designer "docking station" for infants and toddlers to play, sleep, and lounge in.
Pros: Moms are always looking for safe places to put their baby down, whether it's to change a diaper, let them have tummy time, or have them fall asleep. A mom from Sweden began DockATot.com after she developed the comfy, safe, lounging dock for infants and toddlers. She was searching for something versatile but that was also convenient. This invention made us wish it was available a few years back when our kids were babies. The company creates two different versions of the product. One is the DockADot Deluxe + which is designed for newborns to babies 8 months old. It's got raised sides so the baby can't roll out and it's also small enough so he/she feel "cuddled". You could probably put your infant in the dock and then even into a cradle, giving even more comfort. Then they sell the DockATot Grand, which is for children 9 - 36 months. This is great for if you ever travel. It can keep your baby safe and also keep them feeling secure with the familiarity of the dock. The site sells a Transport Bag, which is a nice option. We loved the selection of covers for the docks; they are beautiful. Seems like you'll need to invest in covers knowing how babies can make things messy. All of the items come with a mid-expensive price tag. For example, the DockATot Grand is $300, so you may want to add this to your shower gift list.
Cons: For old-school moms, this may be an unnecessary item. A bassinette, blanket, and a car seat might be well enough, especially if you're on a budget.
