About Sulky:
When we first moved into the new house, the kids were pretty little. There was definitely enough space for them inside. They shared a bedroom, but we also had a separate playroom, which housed their toys, legos, models, and dollhouses. We never wanted to inhibit the kids or make them feel restricted in their own home, but my husband and I also didn't want the kids running the house. We just didn't want every room to be taken over with "kids" stuff. Of course we had high chairs and the hanging swing from the kitchen doorway, but I didn't want clutter in public spaces like the living room and bathroom. Outside was a different story. They had all their mini-vehicles everywhere-and that was fine. When they got older, we decided to build a pool. It really turned out to be a great decision for our family. There weren't a lot of pools in our neighborhood, so our yard was the go-to spot on most summer days. Sure, it got pricey with all the extra food and drinks we had to stock up on-also bunches of towels-but it was worth it. Now that everyone is older and more responsible, I monogram the towels with numbers. I got the idea from Sulky.com. Their website has great ideas and offers free pattern downloads. Their threads are beautiful too. Unfortunately, I do not have a machine, but I can still find projects on Sulky.com that allow me to create and embroider by hand.
