There's something about the fall. There's a feeling that comes along with a cooler breeze, leaves falling, and an anticipation of winter. At least that's the way it is living in Vermont. I've always loved when darkness set in at dinnertime. Most people complain and want longer daylight, but I actually like when the sun goes down earlier. I think it forces me to relax more. The other thing I like about the cooler weather is that I have more options for clothing. I can wear layers, pants, and different types of shoes, including boots. I'm not a "winter" fan so much because I don't do well with feeling cold. Autumn, for me, is the perfect season. But, inevitably, winter arrives and I need to dress warmly. The funniest thing is that I can't find exactly what I want in the local shops. Some items are very unique, but they are exorbitantly priced; the boutiques can get away with it because tourists will pay. For me, however, I mostly shop online. Ironically, there's a store out of Los Angeles (where it never gets cold!) that I like to buy my winter clothes from. It's called NYDJ.com. They carry the nicest corduroy pants compared to most anywhere I've seen. I absolutely love their molasses shade of brown. It's rich and looks classy without looking too dressed up. Wearing them with heels is a really nice "out to dinner" style. It would be great if they added more colors to their cord collection.
