Shopping plus size corsets online is easy

There is this video about the latest fashion craze, the return of the corset. Have you seen this video? I am not sure if it is a good idea to watch it if you have decided that a corset is the thing for you to wear. One of the reasons the corset has made a return is for a non-surgical way to lose weight and remove belly fat. Doctors are saying that this is not a good health choice as it restricts the lungs and liver and causes your organs to become deformed. If corsets are tightened up fully you can lose up to 60% of your lung capacity. This makes it hard to take a deep breath. You can only eat small meals as it has a similar effect on the stomach as lap banding. It is also a lot cheaper than lap banding so I can see the appeal. You will also surely suffer from heart burn due to the pressure on your stomach. It will be difficult getting into your car due to the restriction on the bend of your torso. They shouldn’t be worn by the younger teenager as their body is still growing and it will put unnecessary demands on the body’s organs.

Reasons of Wearing a Corset:

In order to get the hourglass shape, you will need to wear your corset for up to at least 10 hours a day. If you do this, then after a week you will see a small change in your waste measurement as the reporter in the video found. She didn’t find it very comfortable and after 6 days she experienced tingling in her leg. This meant that the corset was pressing on sciatic nerves in her back. But if you just want to wear one to feel sexy for your partner or just for a short time for some fun, a corset probably won’t do you much damage.

There also positive side of wearing a corset. These corsets don’t only give all of us girls an hourglass shape but they can also provide support for your tummy and back and aid in keeping your back straight. If you have a lower back problem, corsets act in a way that is supportive and stabilizing for your torso.

So girls if you watch the video and still want to wear a corset for whatever reason there is a great range out there for women of all sizes even the plus sizes are available. The appeal of the smaller waist is the main reason for wearing one all the time. Even some men are wearing them to give them a narrower waist.

As a plus size girl, it is sometimes hard to find sexy lingerie. All girls want to look and feel sexy and now we all can regardless of our size. Think back a couple of hundred years and every girl had a corset to give her a lovely shape. You had to have someone tie you in and give you that impossibly small waist. Look at Scarlet O’Hara in Gone With the Wind. She was tied in so tight she passed out. We don’t have to go that far girls but if we want that shape they do need to be snug. A corset can be part of your wardrobe that gives you a great shape but unlike other shape wear can be seen on top of your clothes as it is a style statement.

Corsets are not only worn as a part of a wedding dress but as part of your casual or elegant wardrobe depending on the style and material you choose. They go well teamed with trousers and jeans or full skirts for that peasant girl style. Of course you can buy one just to wear at home for your favorite partner to admire as well as wearing one out. The sort of corset you buy will depend on how often you are going to wear it and whether you will wear it under your clothes or as a statement piece of clothing. The more you want to wear it the stronger it will need to be as the doing them up tight puts pressure on the fabric and the bones.

Tips On How To Choose a Corset:

Here are some tips for choosing the best corset for you. It will depend on how often you want to wear it.

Tip no.1 – If it is just for the odd occasion you can choose a lighter weight one without bones that doesn’t have a steel buck fastener.

Tip no.2- If you are going to wear your corset every day you want it to last so buy one made of strong material like canvas or strong cotton. You won’t always be able to see the stronger material as it is underneath the patterned top covering. A strongest style of fastener is needed as it keeps the whole corset straight and stops it from bunching into folds at the waist. Here is a photo of a steel buck fastened corset with steel bones.

Tip no.3 –Make sure your corset has steel bones as they are there to stop the material from going into unsightly folds and wrinkles at the waist and at the back where it is tied up. They give it that lovely smooth look. If you won’t be wearing it that often plastic bones will be adequate to keep the shape.

Tip no. 4- If it is a tie up corset; make sure there are proper eyelets in the material for the lacing to go through. If there isn’t any eyelets the lacing can tear the fabric as they are tightened up. The lacing should be a strong flat woven kind like shoelaces. Some ribbons can be too slippery to give a good tight hold.

Tip no.5-Remember that corsets are sized by the waist measurement and not a dress size. In order to get a good shape the corset needs to be up to four sizes smaller than your waist. This will allow it to be tied or done up to give you that lovely curvy shape. If you will be wearing it every day maybe only a couple of sizes smaller as you will need to be able to breathe while you are working.

What You Need to Know About Corset:

Corsets come in many different styles and can be strapless or have detachable straps or non-detachable straps. They can do up in the front or in the back. You can buy a corset with steel bones that will give you that lovely hourglass shape more defined than one without bones. Some do up with little hook and eye catches and some are tied up the old fashioned way. Either way there are lots of different styles, materials and colors to choose from.

The traditional corsets come up under your bust and are can be worn over a loose top like a peasant blouse. This is what you want if you want to emphasize your bust and minimize your waist. It will be supportive enough unless you are really large breasted. There is also the style that comes up over your bust to give you a very smooth look.

Corsets come in many different types of material. Most were satin or a cotton polyester mix, but there was also spandex, cotton and spandex and I even found a sexy leather corset for the more adventurous girl out there. The leather one would look great teamed with a pair of jeans and cowboy boots and a short jacket. This is a real country sort of look for that barn dance or hoedown with your favorite partner.

Shop Corset Online:

I have been online shopping from my comfy couch once again. It is so easy, and saves so much time wandering around shopping centers only to find nothing in a plus size. I have some fantastic web sites for you to check out next time you want to buy something sexy to wear. These web sites also sold bras and panties and underwear in all colors and the plus sizes as well.

The corset shown below I found at a web site called Hips and Curves. This one is very pretty and is an example of a strapless boned corset that comes over the bust. Some corsets come below the bust in order to push you up and emphasize your bust.

This web site had many beautiful corsets in different colors, but if you were after a more traditional white, red or black there were plenty to choose from. This one is plain apart from the patterned material but some are very fancy.

Another really good web site with lots of colors and styles to choose from, also boned and unboned is Herroom.com. This site has some really pretty corsets that you could wear all of the time or just for that special occasion. You can choose from boned and unboned as well as different types of fastenings.

If you like lacy panels or lacy fringes there were lots of different plus size corsets to choose from. Some were an all over lacy pattern or with side panels in beautiful lace. Other corsets were decorated with bows and ribbons in different colors to the main body of the corset. You can also get matching panties in the same color as the corset if you like for that overall sexy look.

You can find corsets in all different colors or patterns too. There was a lovely teal colored corset with black satin ribbon and bows. It is really lovely and nearly all come in a huge range of sizes. There are jacquard tapestry patterns, paisley patterns, floral fabrics and solid colors. Many with fringes and bow details were in a different color to the body of the corset.

I checked out the corsets available at Macys too. One of America’s favorite stores for women’s clothing had plenty to choose from in different styles and colors. They had some beautiful white satin corsets for that special wedding day or night with tiny roses and bows. They were just stunning and in a great range of sizes.

The other great web site I found with lots and lots of corsets and under wear to choose from is Lightinthebox.com. This web site had a great range of sizes, colors and styles to choose from. They also showed you the back of the corsets to give you a great idea of the shape they provided. Again you could get ones with or without bones and lots of frilly and lacy designs for a really girly look.

Summary:

A corset is not for all of us. It really depends on how long you want to wear it for and what outcome you are after. For fun and on a special occasion it can make you look and feel good. Just remember those tips and you can’t go wrong. Decide how often you want to wear it and whether it will be for back support or just for fun at home, there are plenty of styles and colors to choose from so you will be able to find the perfect one for you.
