Summer is definitely my favorite season. I love the warmth and the ability to get outdoors a lot. My husband and I love to entertain and have parties. We don't do it that often, but when we do, we put our hearts and souls in it. Mind you, the winter is fun for get-togethers, too. Holiday parties can be nice with all the decorations and delicious food. I used to host Thanksgiving when we first got married. I soon realized that it is tremendous amount of work. It takes about a week of planning (at least) and preparation. Then, you've got to coordinate everyone and what they will be bringing. You also have to practice diplomacy so relatives don't get their feelings hurt when you tell them not to bring their famous marshmallow/Jello dish. Spring is also a nice time to entertain, but the weather can be unpredictable. The same goes for autumn. You get all set up with everything outside and then a thunderstorm shows up. Moving all the tables and food indoors in a hurry is a drag. And besides, our house is not that big. That's why I love summer cocktail parties at our place.
