About Sherpa Adventure Gear:
When I was growing up we had extremely "cute" winter clothing for girls. We had earmuffs, which kept your ears warm, but oftentimes were uncomfortable around your head. If they were well made or expensive, the top part that connected the ear coverings was soft and flexible. The cheaper versions had an inflexible metal that sometimes dug into your scalp, making cold ears a better choice than wearing the muffs. There was also a hand muff. It was a furry cylindrical piece in which you'd place both hands inside, resting in front of your body. It was warm, but functionally useless if you needed to use your hands for anything. And if you used it while walking and then fell, you'd inevitably fall on your face. I love the knitted hats with the long hanging tail in the back. If the tail was long enough, you could use it as a scarf as well. Then, it seems cold weather fashion became less fashionable and more casual. Surely, the materials got warmer and more water-resistant, but the look lacked character. Nowadays, however, we have sites like SherpaAdventureGear.com. They make beautiful winter wear from natural materials based on cultural and traditional styles. I adore their Choden hat, which is made from lambswool and gorgeously handcrafted. The exterior is delightful, but the bonus is that the hat is insulated with a moisture-wicking fleece. So, it sounds as if it will keep your head and ears warm, but also dry-and more importantly, not itchy.
