About GuitarCenter:

Music has always been integral to my family's life. We've always listened to all types of genres. I recall my grandmother playing jazz and rhythm and blues while she did her housework and baked. My grandpa was a tap dancer, so anything from the 1920s and 1930s, like the Andrew Sisters could be playing in the evening after dinner. My uncle was a huge country-western fan and also sang. My dad played the piano and the guitar, all self-taught. I learned from him, but also took piano lessons to explore classical music. Now my son plays the saxophone, which I love. He tried the trumpet, but it didn't have enough buttons, so he said. We all attend live music performances of all types whenever we can. At the local park, they often have concerts in the summer in the evening. It's always been fun, too, to go into a music or instrument store and try out all their equipment. Things have changed a lot with producing music at home now. I mean, composing songs with all different instruments, including vocals-the kind of production you used to have to go into a studio to create. GuitarCenter.com is a fascinating site because they carry just about anything you'd want to make your own music. Besides instruments, they have mixers and complex workstations. They try to give the best deals too. I noticed they carry woodwinds, which I will keep in the back of my mind for when my son switches to a clarinet.
