When I was a kid I was in the Girl Scouts. I started as a Brownie, which had a uniform consisting of a brown vest, a brown pleated skirt and a white blouse. It was pretty dull until you got a bunch a badges that you could sew on. I get that the organization wanted each troop to look solidified by having the same clothing, but why was it so drab? We would try to make it cuter by putting our hair in pig tails with ribbons. But that's about as much as we could do. Then when we graduated into the next rank, we traded in the brown for a forest green. I don't recall anything about that outfit being stylish. Now I'm a mom and my daughters belong to the softball team and volunteer at the Park and Recreation Services. Anyway, the softball team, of course, has its standard uniform. Usually it's a brightly colored top with black Capri pants. Since I'm the "team mom", I suggested the girls wear a uniform to practice. I think it adds to the morale and their team spirit. The difference is that I wanted something awesome. We decided to get the team name on rhinestone transfers and place them on tank tops. Everyone loved it. I found it very easy to create and order what we were looking for on ThreadArt.com. It cost a bit more than I would have liked, but it's so worth it. It's unique and the entire team is happy.
