About STA Travel:

The first time I traveled abroad, I was seventeen. I attended an all-girl's high school, and at the end of our Junior Year, we were offered the opportunity to go to England. I had already traveled with my family extensively throughout the United States and the Carribean, but I had never been to Europe. My parents were kind enough to save the money for that high school trip. After that, I was bitten badly by the travel bug. Needless to say, it's expensive to go to far away places. It's not always costly once you get there, but the actual "getting there" is what can make it prohibitive. In college, I learned how to book "package" deals for groups. I would organize (with the help of a travel agent) a trip for 10-20 students. By doing so, I insured that my plane costs were covered.

As an adult, I still love traveling. I am a teacher and I plan field trips whenever possible. I fly with my own children, abroad, using frequent flyer miles and discounts. I recently heard of a site STATravel.com offering good deals for students and teachers. I logged on to see. They definitely offer competitive rates, just like Priceline and Expedia, etc. The one thing I noticed is that STATravel will search obscure airlines to get you a better deal. If you're not afraid to fly on a plane that has a high risk of getting hijacked, then booking through this site will absolutely give you the best price.
