About Midwest Workwear:

My husband and I recently bought our first home. We actually owned a condominium for four years, but that was more like an apartment. I think it was a good investment. It didn't cost us very much to buy-in. I think we put down 15% and then our monthly mortgage was comparable to paying rent on a place of the same size. After the four years, we made almost 50 thousand dollars, clear. That was what we wanted to place as a down payment for our new house. In the condo, we had to take care of structural things, but we had a homeowner's association that collected monthly dues that would cover the cost of re-roofing and also landscaping. We had minor plumbing issues, but nothing like a major overhaul. The same went for electrical matters. It was good practice (on a smaller scale) to prepare us for owning our own house. We knew the new place would be a lot of work. We were prepared to take on the tasks (and expense) because we got a great deal and we also wanted to customize the property to our specific taste. We know we'll be living here for many, many years. The first thing I bought Scott was proper construction clothing. MidwestWorkwear.com has bib overalls with quilt lining that are perfect for when he's doing work on the exterior of the house. I love that the site is family owned, and the prices are great. I wish they carried stuff for women.
