Fashion is such a weird thing. I mean, who really decides what's cool and what isn't? Is it critics at fashion shows? The rich and famous? Marketing? It's tough to tell if style is set by actual people who really like what's been newly designed, or if, (at least in today's world), it's something a celebrity is wearing or an item the corporate machine is promoting. Regardless, there are certain looks that "pass" in a current fashion trend, and, of course, others that simply get ignored or worse, mocked. I think jeans fall into this category of "what's cool." Levi's brand has always been reputable and carries quality products. Wranglers, too, have existed a very long time and compare reliability-wise to Levis. Their prices have always been reasonable, but they haven't always been the "in-thing".
These days there are jean brands that charge $100, $200, and even more for one pair of pants that will fall apart after a few washings. Years ago, the trendy names like Jordache and Guess cost a little more, but they weren't astronomically priced and they did hold together. That's why I like Lee jeans. They're comfy, well made, can still look stylish, but they aren't about the coolness of the name. Lee.com offers bootleg and straight leg cuts. I like their light shades of jeans and even the grey. I don't care for their shorts-they're very frumpy looking and too long. I stick with their tried and true pants, and ordering them online is really simple.
